Strategic Sourcing Specialist
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Specialist, Strategic Sourcing role is responsible for analyzing data, creating and interpreting fact-based reports, and supporting the Targa Resources Strategic Sourcing and Procurement teams in developing strategies to achieve operational and financial efficiency, mitigate risk, and improve supplier performance.
Key responsibilities and objectives include: project management support, data collection, RFx development, supplier management, negotiations and bid analysis
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Develop category profile information (spend and opportunity assessment data, market insight, ordering processes, commodity portfolio make-up, value analysis, current supplier performance, etc.)
• Utilize quantitative skills to analyze, validate, manipulate, and manage large amounts of data, specific to problem solving, project and decision support, and trend analysis of multi-projects.
• Develop, monitor, and report performance to savings/budget commitments through category audits.
• Create reports with both theoretical analysis and quantitative findings to recommend opportunities for enhanced value.
• Research and assist in the resolution of issues relating to invoices, rebates, discounts, pricing, and other contractual issues.
• Support company-wide initiatives that enable the deployment of automated procurement systems, tools and process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, MIS, Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain or equivalent, and a minimum 3 years in directly relevant work experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in strategic sourcing/procurement positions.
• 3+ years related business experience in the following areas: Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance/Accounting
• Ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data
• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Advanced skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint(Power BI a plus)
• Experience with e-Procurement platforms & tools
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
