POSITION SUMMARY:
Senior Financial Systems Support Analyst is skilled in the support of Operational Accounting systems and looking for ways to maximize efficiency and business value. The Analyst navigates the competing needs of multiple users, helping them resolve issues adversely impacting business processes.  As the business needs change and or grow, the Analysts will investigate operational requirements, complex business scenarios, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.  The Analyst will be expected to analyze and document stakeholder objectives, business requirements and manage the configuration of systems.  The Analyst will also collaborate with the information technology department and participate in the process of planning for, implementing, and supporting system upgrades or enhancements. Although the Analyst position is not a technical role it will require the knowledge and use of system related technology competencies to complete work efforts.
 
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Maintain end-to-end understanding of functional aspects of the Operational Accounting system and associated business processes
  • Monitor incoming service requests and incidents keeping the appropriate business owner up to date on the status of open items
  • Investigate and diagnose service requests or incidents according to their priority/rank, and identify the resolution and/or issue
  • Work directly with users to identify and resolve issues adversely impacting business processes
  • Help the business stakeholders envision how their work will need to change to support future business needs
  • Create, analyze, and validate detailed functional specifications
  • Facilitate design sessions with the project teams and/or business stakeholders to define solutions
  • Responsible for analysis of business requirements, testing, training and implementation of solutions leveraging systems across different departmental areas
  • Update and maintain design books, test scripts, work instructions and other team documents with new functionality or process improvements
  • Identify and communicate improvement opportunities with emphasis on continuous service improvement
  • Gather business requirements and complete functional specifications for new functionality or enhancements to existing functionality
  • Demonstrate awareness of customer support metrics such as quality of service, close rates, and response times and reflect on how to improve individual and team results
  • Utilize 3rd parties and vendor support as defined within existing support arrangements, and escalate additional (billable) support to appropriate management for approval
  • Adheres to and champions the IT Governance programs (e.g. change management and communication)
  • Maintain business process documentation (business processes, functional design, training guides, testing plans, etc.)
  • Provide input to IT Project Management Office to support clear and concise requirements definitions
  • Develop internal customer relationships by making efforts to listen and understand the customer; anticipating and providing solutions to customer needs; giving high priority to customer satisfaction
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Business Administration, and/or 3-5 years equivalent work experience in the energy sector
  • Specific focus on maintaining mission critical, production systems
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server or Microsoft Access queries, stored procedures, table operations and database design
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with testing methods and tools
  • Facilitated group meetings such as workshops, project planning, or training sessions
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts and the ability to follow problem, change, and incident management processes and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an aptitude for problem solving
  • Strong reading and listening comprehension skills
  • Must be able to independently resolve issues and efficiently self-direct work activities based on the ability to capture, organize, and analyze information
  • Provide scenario modeling capabilities that demonstrates the possible results of a course of action
  • Experience delivering solutions that align with business strategies
  • Experience troubleshooting complicated issues and driving to solutions
  • Experience supporting resources performing user acceptance, regression and other required system tests, ensuring that system and/or related integration issues that arise are identified, researched and closed in a timely manner
  • Experience providing technical solutions to non-technical individuals
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented setting.
  • Ability to deal with internal employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Willingness to travel to company locations occasionally
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required
 
 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years experience with W Energy software (Waterfield)
  • Working knowledge of operational accounting in a gas gathering and processing environment
