Project Controls Specialist
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for oversight and compliance of all project documentation, including but not limited to transmittal approval process, inspection test plans, RFI’s, schedule updates, meeting records, shipping documents, final documentation for multiple projects
- Create, maintain and report Excel based production and scheduling tracking for long lead capital equipment expenditures for multiple projects
- Daily coordination with capital supplier base regarding equipment production status and purchase order management
- Scheduling equipment deliveries to site and fabricator shops
- Participate in weekly supplier and/or contractor progress meetings and initiate/conduct other meetings as the business need dictates
- Reproduce, distribute, store and retrieve applicable project documentation and correspondence
- Monitor project costs and report to project management team as determined per project
- Audit and close out open commitments through project life cycle, ensuring timely close of all projects; participate in processing of invoices, ensure compliance with and initiate goods receipts
- Train vendors and staff in document control compliance (who, what, when, where, how to submit documentation in accordance with established guidelines)
- Ensure all records management and supplier involved tasks adhere to Targa standards and legal policies, including retention schedules
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years project experience, prefer construction industry background, others will be considered
- Experience handling, reviewing, deciphering and communicating contract related documents such as purchase orders, drawings, permits, confidential documentation, material specifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience supporting operations/engineering/construction within the oil and gas industry
- Detail oriented, diligent, problem solver
- Deadline driven, works well under pressure, delivers results whether independently or team oriented; must be dependable
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential expectation of this position
